Celler Bartolomé, Clos Bartolomé Priorat 2019
Red wine from Spain, % vol. 15
Rebsort: Grenache, Carignan
This red wine is the youngest fruit of the vineyards of Bodega Bartolomé. It is a blend of Grenache and Carignan grapes, harvested from old vines between 40 and 80 years old. Young and old at the same time: a fascinating contrast.
Aging in French barriques for 12 months.
Production: 10,850 bottles identified and numbered by hand.
This wine has an intense cherry red color with violet reflections on the meniscus, an unmistakable sign of its youth. Its aroma is powerful, fruity (ripe fruits, red berries...), concentrated and ripe, with balsamic notes and mineral touches on a background of oak that provides light toasted aromas and high quality spices. Powerful and meaty on the palate, it offers a certain complexity while remaining pleasant, lush and well structured. The fruit and oak from the casks are well integrated. Its tannins are fine and ripe and together with the subtle spicy notes it becomes a very fine, elegant and long-lasting wine with an aftertaste of ripe concentrated fruit.
